Need help with my outboard

Well got the old toms cat out of math balls and run it today. the boat has Prather mod kit on it with exhaust throttle and boy is this thing loud. How can I quiet it down some there is just a aluminum elbow for an exhaust

Sounds loud enough to make the neighbors call the cops. I'll bet that loud noise is the aluminum elbow begging to have a tuned pipe attached to it.

Maybe even a tuned pipe with at silencer

Ahhhhhh.

That should quell that scream.

I've ran that kit and yes it is very LOUD.. As already stated, get a pipe / muffler added.. These should add a few more mph's from the boat also.

It's been YEARS since I've used this.. But I do believe anywhere from 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 turns out will work.. But then again, I had a pipe on mine. On my 29" WOF with a XXL Gardner throttle exhaust, think it's about 3 3/4 out running 40% fuel.
