OK, just read the Oct 2004 RCBM issue today and in the "periscope" section there is a description of MHZ's new turbine marine engine call the MTT. It sports dual stacks and runs at 118,000 rpm on kerosene or diesel fuel. It's got a gear drive of 2.7:1 and claims 7 HP. That's nearly 44,000 rpm at the prop, yet just 7 hp. I'm guessing peak range is a lot lower than that. There is an ad at finedesignrc.com for a scale hydro that he says will run the engine. I'd would like to see and hear one of those things run.
Just scroll down to the 1:6 Miss Bud boat with the $99,999 price tag  no joke! er, maybe it is a joke? http://www.finedesignrc.com/hullmhzhydros.asp
