Whats the difference between a greenhead and goldhead cmb 67?

The older gold head were a disk motor the green head are a drum motor.is there a new gold head motor?

might have been a gold head cam also.kinda looks like the greenhead,different bore,stroke,case,etc.also had a purple head too. new ones are blue head

The real big difference is that you can get parts for one and not the other . Case closed .

I remember years ago, Andy Brown was "boring" the case of the old gold head black case CMB 90's and fitting with the 1.0 piston & sleeve's

Is this a viable deal to do with the gold head 67 CAM engine?

Fitting the gold head with the green head P&S?

The green head P/L fits in the gold head black case disk eng.

I don't think thy changed the OD of 67-80 liners over the years like the bigger eng.

I still run a disk 67 with a 80 P/L in it making it a 77.

The only problem is you need to weld the crank pin in place or it will move.

Tom welded my 67 crank and it has not moved since.

Thanks for the info ... Just bought a gold head. Still a little new to the game. Will be pickin more brains in the future
