gear drive question.

I am not sure if there is much to be gained speed wise, but the boat becomes more driveable. The motor does not load up as much in turns or even from half to full throttle. I can turn mine full lock at pretty close to full throttle without coming off pipe.... that would be pretty close to a 3m (10') turning circle....
