Thanks Alan,
I do have one question for you.
How do you modify the rake angle from 10* to 15*?

Mark

You can cup the tip of prop which will add rake which would be like a curved rake instead of a straight rake angle ,grinding would take a lot of blade away .Im no expert on props still learning. That is if your looking for more rake.Easier to order the correct rake prop to begin with.

I have never heard of reducing the trailing edge to increase the pitch. It is in the leading edge.

It’s rake that Mark was asking he was wanting to know how to increase the rake from 10 to 15 degree

Here’s another article about modifying rake

Boaters,

The answer is: you cannot increase rake angle
from 10* to 15* without cutting off the blades and
Reattaching them at the new rake angle. Some
believe back-cutting the trailing edge increases the
rake angle of the propeller, it does not.
It can reduce lift and blade area ratio however.
It usually removes quite a bit of trailing edge cup
depending on how much is ground off the trailing edge.
I only asked the question because it is not a true statement.
Correct information can be found if you research propeller
designs. ABC Propeller in Columbus, Ohio has been great
to the RC boaters for years. Jim has made plenty of different
Rake angle, blade area ratios, and most of all so many different
sizes available to us all. For the last 26-years there is no other
Company that has done what Jim has done for our hobby.

I'll second that about Jim, great guy and a wealth of information at your finger tips !

There is a way to affect a change. It will move the blade for sure. The rake angle may or may not change a great deal, not to the numbers stated.. but you will get more.
Mark, we talked about it a Long time ago..
But for the most part it is a QWICK fix, if you want to load or open the prop.

Charles,

It does not change the rake angle what I do to
the leading edge though. You are right it opens
up the blade more. For more performance you
can increase the center of blade pitch as well and
it does change the blade progression of the face
of the propeller. Lots of tricks in the bag 💼.

Thanks,

Mark
