on the crankshaft rotor you have the opening side and then the closeing side ok. I was told the opening is related to torque and the closeing side is related to rpm , please educate me on this please.

You will hear many different ideas on this as it dose not by its self do either with out changing some thing else. there is no simple answer to the question as every change has to work together.

Pipe design plays a big part on how the intake timing works as this controls the case vacuum.

The pipe will lower the pressure in the case as it draws the gases out. The intake controls case pressure by holding the case closed at one end as the piston is on the down stroke and pressurizes the case.

The timing of the transfers will hold this pressure in the case then when thy open this pressure is released.

So with this in mind the intake serves no purpose after the piston has hit bottom. there is no need to keep the door shut. as at this point a good pipe will take over the control and start sucking.

So let the pipe take control and open the door at bottom dead center........................................
