can someone explain if there is any harm done by changing nitro % back and forth. example 30% for sport boating and 50 -60 % for the race.? does the motor need to be re-broke in?

no re-breakin needed, just retuning your needle. richer for the higher nitro, plus a more touchy needlle. i used to do this, but ended up finding it easier to run the same % all the time. the habits you learn running lower %'s can bite you on race day. plugs, pipe length & temps can all be different, you may be tempted to change the setup to accomodate this, then back to chasing your tail on race day. you will learn more about the boat while playing/testing if you don't change the fuel B) .

I agree, it is best to use the same fuel for testing that you do at the race.

By switching nitro content, you will find that the pipe, prop and needle will probably need to be changed also.
