Carb mounted needle

I know some of the older engines had the high speed needles mounted on the side of the carb I'm considering doing this on some cmb 80hr engines and was wondering if there was any big disadvantages to doing it this way?

Engine vibration at the needle is the biggest drawback.
Depending on the length/weight of the assembly, the internal O-Rings can wear quicker.
Vibration = air bubbles.

Biggest issue is that they are usually wider than the tub (in an outrigger) and need to have a hole cut for clearance.

Yeah those where basically the main problems I could think of too I'll probably just stick with a more traditional setup then. thanks guys!

Vibration can be an issue.

I believe the ability of the needle to hold and meter consistently has been the biggest issue over the years.
O.S. has been bullet proof and I've seen no difference mounted on the carb or isolated.
