Is the inside of a pipe suppose to be empty? Have a pipe I received w/ engine but it's bare inside the pipe. I am new to nitro so sorry if this question sounds stupid.

yes thats normal an empty pipe will be louder than a pipe that had baffles

Most that use un-baffeled pipes often use a aftermarket muffler like those sold by Lenny Blake at Rum Racing.com

What brand engine, what brand pipe?

But yes, if it is a nitro (non muffled) pipe, there is nothing in there,

It is common to add an after-muffler to a nitro pipe, to lessen the noise output, and to help KEEP your lake
