No, the aluminum block was fabricated. The Bob Violett needle has a barb on the end along with 1/4-32 (glow plug) threads. The barb can be removed and the internal needle function remains.

I see, thanks. I was curious whether that was fabricated or not. Now that I look at the original Bob Violett needle I can see more clearly.

So your custom aluminim base is threaded 1/4-32 where the needle mounts?

I just get a piece of aluminum angle from lowes,.. cut off a small piece,.. grind one side down to like a radius a bit bigger than the needle, drill a hole through it, put the needle through and put the little nut that comes with it on the back,.. I"ve even just used the 3M 2sided tape to hole them down..
