Nothing came up on a search...

Is a Futaba 3305 good enough for a .21 O/B steering servo?

Thanks.

S3305 Standard High-Torque

Volts Torque Speed

4.8V 99 oz-in. 0.25 sec/60°

6.0V 124 oz-in. 0.20 sec/60°

Dimensions Weight

1.6 x 0.8 x 1.5 in. 1.6 oz.

If your using a single servo it is a tad light on torque for an Outboard. I am using a single servo at 144 oz-in on 6 volt.

What make and model servo are you using? Thanks.

Airtronics 94780 for me. I like to go substantially overboard on steering power(423oz/in). Never want to think it was my steering servo for not hold lane one at full throttle. :D

Anyone try a HS-755MG? It seems to be a little smaller than most 1/4 scale servos, but has a bit more torque than any standard servo. Here are the specs...

Length: 2.32" (59mm)

Width: 1.14" (29mm)

Height: 1.96" (50mm)

Weight: 4.12oz (117g)

Speed: .28 sec/60° @ 4.8V, .23 sec/60° @ 6V

Torque: 166.64 oz in (12kg.cm) @ 4.8V

199.97 oz in (14.4kg.cm) @ 6V

Are there ever issues with installing large sized servos in tunnels? This is a Cobra, don't have the boat yet.

Thanks.

The 3305 is enough power for a 21 tunnel.. I use them in both my sport and piped boats. To date i have not burned one up or had any problems with them..

I also use one in my Scale hydro.. Sport 40 and just about every place I need good power in a standard case size.

But.. this year I might switch to digi servos just for the heck of it.. I have used digis in some of my boats now and realy like em.

JR Z650R servos have worked very well for me. i have some 3 years old, still tight, no failures to date. use them in all my .21 tunnels.

Rick.

They plug right in.. the days of the old non standard plug are long gone. (you want the blue plug end.. not black)

The 94162 is a darn good servo..

Just plugs right in my Futaba Receiver like Mike said........... It is the only Airtronics servo I have everything else is Futaba, never had any luck at all with Hi Tec.
