Hi Gents,
We are announcing a change in policy to our sponsorship search for the 2003 NAMBA nationals. The "Title Sponsor" position has been eliminated, and the co-sponsors will now be called "official sponsors". The "Official Sponsor" positions are available for a $250 donation.
As most of you already know, there are quite a bit of poor feelings circulating through what should be considered a "relaxing hobby". In the interest of the sport - we decided it was time to take a position that will not promote more of that sort of thing. In our opinion, having a "top dog" sponsor is flawed by design, and would further divide an already shaky community.
We have verbal confirmation from several of you that re-enforces our thinking on this matter. We want to make the 2003 NATS a great race for everyone, and possibly the start of a reconcilliation in our model boating community.
We will need to raise about $1500 - $2000 + Trophies to make the event a success. Several individuals / companies are now onboard as Class Sponsors and as Official Sponors - we are looking forward to hearing from more of you!
The official website is now available at www.autoimages.com/nats and will be updated every few days as is needed.
Sincerely,
Trent Hare
