Nova 21 short stroke. I am kind of taking stock of what I have in the 21 engine dept. Since nova is no longer available. I still run the SS in my sport 20. I have a pile of parts. So just getting them all back into a usable piece. After I pay for a few more parts I located today, I will have 2 inboards and 1 outboard. 25x13x6 bearing that failed

Working on a carb mod as well. This carb had the low end needle as well as the 3rd channel needle. Tore it apart and cut off what was not needed in the lathe. Just waitin on a few items from McMaster to finish it up. Parts at top of pic not needed.

I am not sure they sold much of these. I got it from Glenn when he was the importer. He would know better than I. They are nice.

Mike was this a common brand of bearing? Was the missing piece broken apart when you disassembled, maybe hard to tell.Had to be some sort of serious stress or more likely the bearing housing was cracked even when it was installed.
 
I am pretty sure there was a flaw in the outer race before it was installed. It spun meh without the crank in the housing. As soon as I put the crank in, it would hit the case and just did not feel right. So I changed the bearings. This motor has been sitting for quite some time since it is a short stroke nova and I had quite a few of these over the years.

All back together now on the carb. Got lazy on machining the hex. Did not want to set up up my rotary table to machine the hex on the carb arm bolt. So I just used a grooved vise to hold the piece. Then used a marker to mark the piece with equal spacing around the brass. Then rotate until mark is pointing up. Just eyeballed it. Then made cut. Rise and repeat. Close enough for carb arm. LOL
