Cutting the shaft on a spec motor makes it ilegal for organized competion racing. The motor has to be run as shipped from the manufactuer. Just letting you know.

I have used a small baking pan about an 8x8 with ice and a little water in it to set my mixing cup in when the shop was hot.It gives a little bit more working time.I used plastic cups so the water didn't soak in,just watch for water drips on what you are working on.

It is a good idea in my opinion to remove motor off lower unit assembly when done racing for the week to let the water that gets trapped in the pto endbell to dry out. It will save that bearing, you should re oil outboard motor bearings before any storage.

MMotorcycle and snomobile pipes arn't round. The water formed pipes look horrible but work just as good as a hand formed one.
