A short section of 11/32" brass tube is 'glassed into the hull bottom for the stuffing tube to slide through. Using 1/2oz. cloth in small sections wrapped & layed around the tube keeps it neat & strong. I always use a sleeve like this as opposed to directly glassing in the stuffing tube, alot easier to replace stuffing tube if it gets damaged & the 'glassed in sleeve makes sure it is always lined up properly.
