These pieces have been cleaned after hardening for the tempering operation. They are held in the drill press, rotated slowly & heated carefully with a Bernzomatic propane torch. The heat should be applied to the bigger end first and allowed to travel downward to the smaller end. Heat SLOWLY & CAREFULLY to a dark blue color, then place immediately in quenching oil until cooled to room temperature.
