We are thinking about running a class of these for our club races. With the web site down, I can't look up the requirements for P-Limited. Are there restrictions on the motor size / KV? Can you run a cat hull in the hydro class?

A tunnel or Catamaran are legal in a hydro class. There is an official IMPBA stand alone FE class and records for Catamarans. 4S would be a "P". Since IMPBA has no specifications for a limited class you can make whatever motor rule you feel will benefit your area. The NAMBA P/Lmtd motors are generally accepted and listed in their rulebook.

Combining these hulls with mono's or OB tunnels would be a way to build numbers as performance is similar. A rigger or spt/hydro may have an advantage.

Don't forget P-Limited Offshore, this allows both cats and monos to run together. They would not be competitive in P-Limited Hydro against riggers, but as stated could run in that class. IME the best motors for these boats are the stock 1800 Kv motors. It is legal in NAMBA to run the 2030 KV motor, but the boats run better overall on the 1800.
