Best run with the Chevy pickup at the Bloomington Airshows was just over 300 mph, standing start 1/2 mile run.

I've seen both of those trucks in action at the local airshow (Belle Chase). They race the planes. Cool stuff. The bigger truck has enough power to slide the wheels while it's powering up. The smaller truck is quicker in the top end though.

This year they ran a jet dragster. Much smaller. Much faster. I miss the trucks. They're all about show. They pump a bunch of gas into the afterburner without lighting it. Then when enough builds up in the air, they light it. Makes a nice explosion. That's why they call them the Shockwave.

They're definitely a highlight of an airshow.
