scaling down

hey guys i was thinking, if i want to scale down a roger newton scale boat plan to build a sport 20 how much should i reduce the plans?

I would bring it down to 30-31 inches. You may have to scale the width a different amount than the length to keep it wide enough.

most scales are 43inches long 43 x 70% = 30.1 inches you can take your plans to a copy machine and use the reduction feature at 70%

I took one of Rogers Newtons plans for the T-Plus tri-wing to Kinko's and scaled it down and made my first sport 21 5 years ago...Just had to re do the tub to 4 in, so I could use a stock mount.. Raced it in A hydro because the was no class for it at the time...
