plastic fuel tank mod

I have seen plastic tanks cut to custom size and "soldered" back together. Anyone have any good tips to get this done? Thanks.

Start with new tanks, I cut one tank into strips about an 1/8” wide to use as filler. Then another 2 tanks it to make the custom configuration. I used a Weller gun and have the wide flat tips that worked better than the typical solder type. I double cleaned everything with alcohol. You might want to see what the prices are now days for the ultrasonic welders for plastic. I’ve heard they have come down in price.
