Mounting rudder

Started installing hardware on a PT SS21 and wondering about proper placement of rudder. Left or right side of transom as Speedmaster mini rudder looks to be a right side mount even though most boats I have seen use left side mounting. Any rule of thumb for distance from strut or prop blade tips to rudder? Depth? Any info greatly appreciated. Using transom mount flat bottom strut from Speedmaster as well.

Hi set the rudder 2 " from center. You can take the rudder apart and flip the control arm so the rudder will mount on the left.
