good info, I put an email into Phil and Harry about Bud Boats also. Thanks for all the replies!
All the boats had the block lettering before 2001. That is when the logo was changed to the script style.

The T4 was of course the two wing boat that only raced once in an actual race. Limiting fuel flow reduced the horsepower to the point that these multi-wing hulls didn't have enough power to properly lift the boats in order to have a safe ride. I spoke with Chip Hanauer about the boat last Friday since I just purchased one from Mikey. To my dismay he just kind of wrinkled his nose and said that it was a terrible boat. The boat did have the script lettering on it when it was used as a display boat. The boat was ultimately sold to Bill Wurster, was reconfigured and is now the current U-37.

It is hard to say anything definitively about the configurations of the T-5 and T-6. Each year they were changed as they tried something on one of them and then if it worked they changed the other to match. Hence the conflicting info in this thread about shoes etc. At one point they had them at another they didn't. In the end they were close to identical from any aspect that would matter to a model boater.

The t-5 as Doug Shepard correctly states was actually built twice. The original center section was cut out and sold, then a new one built and the sponson canoes attached. The T-6 was a new hull. The T-3 was rebuilt but remained the T-3 throughout it's career, until sold to Ken Gregory and was last year's U-10 Hoss Mortgage. At the time it was sold Mark Smith said it was probably 2 mph slower than the T-5 or T-6.

Also, as has been stated here, the T-5 and T-6 were both sold and became the two Formula Boats now on the circuit.

All the boats went through so many changes I would have a hard time arguing with anyone about any particular configuration. Moveable front wing, no moveable front wing. Sponson shoes, no sponson shoes, just kind of depends on what year and what race.

I think both Phil Thomas and Steve Gualtieri both make excellent hulls if you want to build one of these. Steve's is the older T-3/T-2 design and Phil's is the later post 95 version. I think Doug may also make this although I am not certain. Be careful with Graphics however, I know of at least one graphic guy who's stuff is not correct, has the lettering at the wrong angle. I get mine from the people who did the real boat so, while a little more money, I know they are right. Not commneting on Wesley's stuff here, he is not the one I am referring to as being wrong. If you want to now who, you need to write me directly as I don't want to get into any kind of a flame war with the person.

I found this picture I took of the orignal T5 center section once the sponson canoes had been cut off. It was later sold to the Rutt brothers in Tri-Cities and ultimately re-purchased by Ron Brown when he was building Jim Harvey's new boat a few years ago.

pretty cool, what boat is the Formula team using for their display? I know they run the T5 and T6 but also displayed a boat at Evansville.

It was probably the back up boat, a former Leland hull. Not sure which one of Leleand's hull's it is since he had three that were almost identical.

Yeah that display boat( a Leland hull) was run on the circuit last year with Formula lettering and colors at a west coast race or two. SO it too is a legal scale hull.

So which bud hull did the U3 Mastertire get is it a T5 and was it one of many hulls they owned and sold off. They must of had three at one time Cause Bud was running still when mastertire got the new hull.

The U-3 boat was built brand new just for Ed Cooper.Never was a Bud, nor anything else for that matter.

F41 and Misshydro, could you post some pictures of the yellow boat? One other option is that it could be a dummy boat built just for display that will never run. I've seen a couple of them over the years and I'm sure Harry has too. A picture or two would definately give us the answer :)

Here is some of the yellow formula as far as i know it did run i didnt go to the thunder that year it ran you can also go to formulas website and see it in the gallery it was ran in 95

Okay, looking at the Master Hull Roster, the yellow boat is probably the 9299 hull which ran as the Miss Brake Shop, KISW/Miss Rock and KRBT/Miss Rock in 1992. The last listed sponsor is in 2005 as the Formula Boats.Com as the U-5. The backup boat is probably the 9399 hull which ran as the KISW/Miss Rock, Coor's Light and Spirit of Hawaii in 93. It's last entry is the 07 Formula Boats.Com as the U-1. The only other boats to have the Formula sponsorship are the Bud T-5 and T-6 hulls, so I think we have your answer.

Okay, I'm curious as to whats the difference in these boats? I believe the T4 hull was a tri-wing hull. So what's the difference between T5 and T6?
To keep it simple, look at it this way, both the T-5 (U-7) and T-6 (U-5) are very close, I dont think the average scale guy could remember all the changes, but the most obvious one is this, the T-7 only ran the salt water scoop as needed, and the T-6 (U-5) ALWAYS ran the salt water scoop, Bud or Formula ( very few pictures without it on)

Got it now, I'm building a T-5 with saltwater scoop as 2000 Miss Budweiser...got my hull now just need help putting it together! I've never built a scale before...anybody????

here it is in RED

That's the 9399 hull, not the 9299 that was yellow
Nope, its the 9299 hull (Yellow & Red) (Leland) Bill Wurster bought it as a backup, later sold to Formula group, started out yellow (Wurster colors) and is currently a display boat for Formula Boats.
Joe, you lost me. Are you saying the 9299 is the display AND backup boat or just the display and the 9399 is the backup boat? Here is what I found in the MHR:
