Paul Kantner, founding member of the Jefferson Airplane died yesterday at age 74. He had suffered a heart attack earlier this week. I only saw the Airplane once. They put on a free concert in Greynolds Park East in Miami in 1969. They had played at the Newport Hotel Lounge in Sunny Isles (Miami Beach & 183 st.) Fri. & Sat. nights, then for free in the park Sun. afternoon.
If you believe in forever,
Then life's just a one night stand.
If there's a rock n' roll heaven,
Well you know they've got a hell of a band.
The Righteous Brothers/1973
RIP & godspeed, Paul.
