K&B 7.5cc Revs out of control !!Help!!

??? Hey guys i'm looking for some help every time i fire up my 7.5 cc k&b Outboard it has a tendency to rev up really high when you first start it but it will com down after a good run any sugguestions

Sounds like you have an air leak. Sometimes the rubber O-ring around the carb wears to thin. Or the fuel tubing to either the pressure or the fuel has a small pin prick sized hole that will cause it to rev so high. Change your lines and re-tighten the screw to the cap of your fuel tank.

That's a start. Also, make sure the needle is not set to lean, start at about 3 1/2 turns if it's the silver needle carb and work inwards from there.

Another thing to check would be the setting on the low speed needle(older style 7.5 carbs or the low speed disc on the new 7.5 carbs). If the low speed is set to lean the motor will rev up when being started.
