JAE CG and turn fin relationship

I just picked up a home built JAE style tub and have a sponson kit and turn fin coming from Joe. The tub has the engine, tank and all hardware already installed. My question is when mounting sponsons where in relation to the CG is the turn fin ideally located?

You can't go wrong by putting the rear of the fin at the CG. The (JAE) boat is not real critical about the CG.

My CG currently is an equal distance 1 slot back right behind the last motor mount screw. So just a little bit further back then the back of the turn fin. I'm very happy with the way my JAE 21GT runs and handles. Its been a great heat race boat for me.
