Very interesting....Makes sense. If pistons are opposing, how are the cranks merged to one drive?

Watch the video again where they show that prototype running inside of the transparent concealment. The bottom of the piston has a "pin" that the angled rod is connected to. The other end of the rod has the orbital (crank) motion. Very cool!

Nothing new .. it's the same idea as the OPOC-engine : V I D E O
the older guy in the video is the man who designed the diesel for volkswagon.this idea has been around for many years.do not think it will happen in our life time because of opec and the biggest mafia (US Government)in the world, it would cut into all there $$$$$!!!

Yep! Opposed pistons go way back. Google Junkers, a German aircraft engine builder. They had one, pre WWII.

HendricX mentioned the OPOC engine.

One of our very IW members has been working with the R&D team on that project for a number of years now.

It's a Two-Stroke BTW! :)

It is funny every thing we think is new has already bin thought threw. At the turn of the century there were many people ahead of there time in thinking. We are just now caching up with there genius.

With cheep fuel there was no need for these designs. Oil flowed like water and exploited for profit in mass quantity. Now the reality of supply and demand has caught up with us.

Now what?

wasn't but 200 years ago and it was a curse to find oil on your property... made it just about worthless.

anyways... how is that saying, whats new is old and whats old is cool again

Looks like a ROOTS type supercharger AND a Turbo on the motor. hummmm
Actually that is a twin screw comprosser. Search whipple superchargers or eaton superchargers for more info.

Allen
also referred to as a vertical or twin screw compressor in hvac & air compressors. less drag & more volume than roots type ;) . they have been steadily replacing piston type compressors in ac & shop air compressors.
