Hi Gener,

I know that model - It's actually a Mazda floorpan and running gear - Mazda B6T engine. They were assembled in Oz. I had it's sister model- the Ford Laser TX3 turbo.

The intercoolers are too small and restrictive when you start pushing the boost up, but they respond well to a bigger exhaust system and a boost increase. There is plenty of stuff on the WWW about increasing performance on the B6T and BP series engines.

I have good memories of the TX3 turbo- it was a fun car, but shocking for torque steer! Turbo's / FWD is not something I particularly like but I really enjoyed that little car. Never had any problems with it.

Gawd Tim, Is there anything you don't know  I had a Omni GLH-S Turbo that was particularly

intresting. Upgraded the intercooler and got 186HP out of it, the car came with Goodyear 50 series "GatorBacks",, was one of my favorite cars I've ever owned. But it was worthless in the snow

(Oh yeah with the "performance module")

Tim and Jer,

Yea Baby! on tha torque steer, bit of a lag while she spools but when it hits ya gots to HOLD ON to it ;)

There is all kinds of stuff out there for em, Manual fuel injection mapping, larger or twin intercoolers, etc.....

Thanks for tip on tha B6T and running gear :D

Gonna be a fun little ride for sure, It is amazing how much we all have had the same kinda stuff,

Fast O'l Fart,

Yeah Mike and Tim, It was a Chrysler product,,as I remember it didn't say "Dodge"on it anywhere.

The "GLH" part was for "Goes Like Hell" And That they Did! I beat many V-8 powered street cars with that thing,,, funny thing,, they all hated me too

Hey Mike,

With Jerry driving a 186 hp compact....Yup!!!

Carrol Shelby did a stint with Dodge, turboed Daytona's and it trickeled down to the Onmi's too,

Fast stuff for its time,

I Had the Daytona Shelby Z afterward, and I wanted the GLH-S Back.

There was a guy in Salem (State Capitol) that had what I had in his

Plus a Dodge "Direct Connection" Race Ported head ,,which was 235HP!

He couldn't keep half shafts in it, but it Was Absured for torque steer!

Yea the Hp to weight ratio on the GLH-S made it a monster ;)

There was CRAZY Hp possible if ya wanted to push it,

Ever heard of a YB Cosworth (as fitted to the Ford Sierra RS500 Group A touring cars?)

2litre injected turbo 4 cyl. engine - up to 600BHP in race qualifying trim..... and based on the old Ford pinto 2.0 block - (only far better).

Chrysler dissapeared in Oz in the late 70's I think.... we had some cool Oz build Chrysler's using hemi 6's and V8's. Great for towing the race car to the track. (Mazda RX-3's and then RX-7's)

Hey Mike G - how have you been?

Tim.

I still have that copy of "Hot Rod" magazine with Carol Shelby on the cover standing between two GLH-S's

They took them two Omni's to a 60's/70's Muscle car race in California,,, every race those two Omni's came across the finish line First and Second  The only time they weren't 1st and 2nd is when one ended up on it's top

The following months of Hot Rod magazines were full of hatred toward those car running in those races, much less appearing in Hot Rod magazine  :p neener, neener,,neeener

I remember that cover! Yea that got some guys all stired up

Mine with the boost bout 8, I can give a 5L Mustang fits.....Hehehehehe ;)

Tim, Yea kinda remember something bout the RS 500 cars, didnt they have the really wild ( for there size ) spoilers and fender flares ?

I gotta admitt Tim I don't know much about the Cosworth, the guy that has a couple "autocross" cars that I've driven knows alot about them. The only Cosworth engines I've seen have been in race cars,,the Indy

style "Champ Cars" all use them now.

 :D Gimmee,Gimmee, Hehehehehe........

Kewl pic Timbo,

Rallye Sport - Ford Europe's alternative to things like GT.

Another fave car of mine - Ford RS1800 MkII Escort. funnily enough - also Cosworth powered (BDA engine - up to 270HP naturally aspirated on carb's in rally trim!) VERY rare bird - if I could get my hands on a BDA for under the $8,000 + they ask for now - I'd build a replica as I have the car it goes in sitting in my garage.

Hanging in Tim!

No offence ment by the Dodg'em comment, just knew it would point Tim in the right direction. ;)

Heck, I used to drive an AMC!
