gear driven outboard

I am going to be working on making a 3.5cc outboard

that is gear driven instead of using flex shafts.

It will also be completley cnc machined and will

have sealed cartridge bearings for all the moving parts.

Let me know what you think about this idea.

Ryan,

Sounds interesting. Are you going to use normal direction engines or reverse direction? Any gear reduction? I had some great results with the TT outboard which uses both gears and a flex shaft.

I would love to see some pic's when you finish one!

Ryan, gear driven outboard was an idea I believed in to but, I couldn't find gears small enough to do the job.
