Flex shaft size

I am converting my 1/8 th scale to electric. The drive shaft currently is .250". Do I keep it or change to the .1875" shaft?

Keep it, you will need the strength of the 1/4" flexshaft for the weight of the boat, and the start of the boat when starting the race.

Stay with 1/4".

Thanks, I thought it would be stronger. Was not sure if it would put strain on motor at launch.
