Flex Shaft Removal

What is the best way to remove a flex shaft from a K&B stub shaft assembly ? I have one that is stuck & wont come out. I don't want to destroy the stub shaft removing the stuborn flex shaft.

have you tried heating the stub shaft? or a good penitrating oil?

Just happened to me. I cut the stubble flush with with a Mototool and cutoff wheel, then drilled a small hole right down the center. Two drill bits will never be the same, but once the end of the flexshaft was drilled out, it fell to pieces without a mark on the squaredrive.

Being a tool maker i use a post burner to burn it out this works great.
