A quick question here about the CMB 67/80 muffled pipe, has anyone here stripped the black paint off these pipes and polished them or even had somthing like the Jet Hot coating put on one? Just not too keen on the black pipe, no other reason. How tough is it to strip the paint and is the aluminum in good enough condition to polish (assuming the slight texture is the paint and not the metal)?

Thanks

the aluminum is very thin and hard to work with.that being said ,i had one powder coated once.found out you need high temp powder, don't use the regular

Check with Al Hobbs or Roger Hooks, he had a pipe modeled after the CMB/AB 67 muffled pipe that was raw aluminum.
