What parts do i need to round up to build a killer .45 CMB OB? Or is there like a "kit"

There are couple of guys in Oz who are also interested in running the .45 CMB RS as an outboard.

I thought James Clegg "Topfuel443" from Oval Express Racing had a thread running on this topic a few months back but I can't find it now.

From what I know the "conversion" requires a suitable engine mount, designed to mount the engine to the lower unit with the flywheel end driving a flex coupler and access provided through the mount for a'permanently" fitted starter belt.

Because the drive is taken off the flywheel there is no need to reverse the engine rotation or provide a PTO back plate.

From what I remember Ernie Lafleur has made some....?

Good luck,

James

Kessos right

Mr Clegg informed me that ernie is the guy to contact when i go to get mine, not sure what the are worth.

There was a thread with some good photos of some designs

You guys are correrct, Ernie has been manufacturing kits for some time now. Keep in mind that the motors end plate need to be machined to accept his kit. He will do it if you can't.

He can be contacted here: [email protected]

You can see a few pics of the assy on my HTB:

I bought the complete assembly from Ernie. Included R/S .45, header adapter, header, bell housing, drive cable nut, throtle cable clamp, and water jacket restriction modification. I also bought the K&B lower and motor mount. Ernie will build the mount with the correct transom to hinge pin distance, for the boat you are going to run. Very good workmanship. Richard D
