7.5 K&B

Hello,

New to Nitro, just bought a 7.5 K&B off eBay. The previous owner says it ran and had new bearings installed. In general it looks used but not abused, however when I rotate the engine I can’t help notice some "FLAT" spots when I turn the crank. It is very subtle but I can feel something when a rotate the crank.

It seems to have good compression but I’m unsure if I should just rip it down and replace crank bearing just in case.

Interested in feedback.

Finally how does one get part for the 7.5?

What your feeling is the TDC Bump which is a good thing. You always want to tear down and examine bearing condition and appearance, Bearings from Racecraft # is 727-639-7366, K-B parts from Technology Hobbies # 813-651-1840 Good Luck

Hi,

Take the power head off of the lower unit and look at the bottom PTO bearing. these get rusty real fast if the previous owner wasn't good about after-run clean up and oiling.
