So pressure feed is maybe the only common factor (presumably split with a tee piece; one pressure tap to two tanks).

    Newest Cmb .45

Easily dome. Especially when they went from Evo to RS; then followed that with RS Evo. I always used to think of and call that type of CMB crank arrangement, Evo type, but had to revise that when they went to RS Evo.

    Newest Cmb .45

As far as I know, that’s a gold head .67 Evo; from the same era as the .45 and .90 gold head Evo. Those came before the purple head Evos. After the purple head Evo, came the .45RS and .91RS (red headed). I don’t think the .67 ever made it to RS. They stopped making double bobbin crank .67s...

A new nitro engine coming soon (some say I am mad for doing this!)

This is a superb thread, and a superb initiative. I take my hat off to you Ricky, for what you’re doing here, and the effort - not to mention resources which you’re putting in. Cant wait to see the end result. Some superb info and knowledge sharing - by everyone in the thread too.

    OPS and Picco Rod lengths

Thanks very much Joe. Sorry to cast doubt, but could there be a typo in the Picco rod measurement, or could that length be for a Picco 45 EXR rod ?

    OPS and Picco Rod lengths

Thanks very much Ricky. Much appreciated. Looks like the Picco 60 rod you have, has the same dimensions as the “believed Picco 67 EXR rod” I have. I think some of the early Picco 60/65/67 rods (the ones with cast rotor discs), may be a good fit all round, but obviously very much out of...

    OPS .40 cylinder head

Going back to head shins, I’ve had success with a compass cutter and copper foil. It’s a bit painstaking, but managed to make quite a number of head shins that way.

    OPS and Picco Rod lengths

Hi All, Long story. I’m trying to fix an MDS .61 engine, for a friend (actually more than one). These engines seem to have borrowed quite a lot (in design terms), from Italian engines of the time. Porting layout is like Mk1 Picco (four transfer / boost ports), with a drum induction setup like...

Sharing some info and pictures of my tethered hydroplanes

Hi Ricky, Great info, and great sharing of info. It’s good seeing you on here, and some representation of this area of the hobby. I’ve popped along with my son, to a couple of the Victoria Park events - attending under Norman’s wing. I think I may have seen you at the last one of last year; with...

    CMB v5

Yeah. The HR has the same bore / stroke ratio as the RS, and the old style .45 Evo engines. The V5 and VAC 45, are longer stroke engines, and I think, have a slightly wider and higher crankcase. This also affects the position of the crankpin, and the hole / slot in the periphery of the drum. HR...
