I mentioned my misfortune to a fellow boater and he told me that Mac 45 has had crankshaft failures & 67 have had crankcase problems he said andy brown came to the party and replaced them.Has anyone had the same problem with these engines

Hey guysI looked at my needle roller bearings last night & found what looks like hot spots only on half the needle. may be the con rod or the crankshaft is flexing :o

Don :( Thanks for that after you suggested that i had a close look the small end is of the rod is polished on the face facing forward as like a thrust bearing. Also the big end is polished on the ssurface facing the drum valve, the drum valve has rupping marks on it as well from conrod and...

Do mac motors have the same problem they are made in the same factory ???? if it is a design problem why has mac not got the same problem

My one is the latest 2004 cam from tidewater small pin grooved oil holes on rod releived drum valve for better lubrication to big end my one was running fine until i changed props went from a H18 to a H22 then bang it was on a hydro

Do not buy 2004 cam go to general forum and have a look at rod failures these are all taking place on 2004 cams
