What is a good pipe for one guy may not be for another because the driver will select the pipe that performs best with their total setup. I agree that the Cooper pipes are good pipes. I have two of them and they are laying in the top of my tool box because the SPP (for my setup) is the best pipe for my boat design, engine and prop. Don't get me wrong they are not for sale but I will not put them back on my boat until I loose my SPP carbon pipe and can't get another one. I have seen the cooper pipes run very well.

I understand that, my questions was only for to know some things because I have not much experience about this my new hobby I started last time ago with others tunnel boat..now in next year I will restart to race with lynx tunnel and I need help for to know in this moment what is good materials and where I can buy for to use with this boat engine, I bought the boat from Joe monhoan two years last ago, some props and one silver bullet pipe, about this one In the test this pipe don't go with my os engine, start good but have not speed.,for this I asked what is the best pipe I can use, or is better run with your original. My engine is stock out of box.. About the props yes I read inside the manual instruction what I can use.,but I don, t know where I can buy this one ready or what is the seller contact. Carl thanks for your informations I wiil contact you about for help

Felix,

Yes Joe had apparently started selling off some of his stuff before he died. He sent me a box of stuff like modified 7.5cc heads, props and 707 push rod seals and stuff like that so he must have known that he didn't have long to live. I'm glad you got the boat and just email me for any information you may need. If you are running a stock water cooled OS outboard just upgrade to the long muffler and if you decide to run a Rossi powerhead you can purchase pipes from the Nova Rossi site that will suit that engine well. I am not too sure about the silver bullet pipe because I have never tried one but some people love them so it may work fine for you.
Thanks,
-Carl

Do you think the weight (CoG) difference is a big factor for you and your setup?

Kris,
Yes, we have seen it help before. A guy had one of his sponson tips damaged on his Lynx and he repaired it. The repair added enough weight to the tip that the weight of the Cooper pipe actually helped bring the c/g back to where is should be.

Yep, I have heard things like that. The Cooper pipe is double the weight of the carbon...from memory its 2 or 3oz heavier.
The change between pipes moved my COG 1/4"! Decent amount really.

I have started to use the carbon pipe more recently...is not as smooth for me, but certainly has alot of power! I might try 1/4" longer to tame it a bit.

Yes that is what I noticed right away with the SPP. I have run mine for about three years now. It forces you to come to the clock a little hotter because you want to keep it staged. It takes a little getting used to where as the cooper doesn't have quite the scream but is more forgiving and smoother and can pull up from a crawl. Being able to do that Cajun Crawl to the clock in lane one is what most people like about the cooper. The SPP is my choice between the two.

I am running car pipes, pulling 41500 rpm. You will need to shorten the header, and go for the conical headers.
either you rebuild an onroad header, or you pick up this one from Hipex: http://www.hipex.it/en/products/manifolds/marine/product/view/17/28
Even that one can be shortened a little.
Remember the marine engines are mostly based on the onroad engines.
I`m running OS Speed R2103 car engine, and it works great.
