Kris- I don't know about slowing you down, but it will lift more if the opening is wider in the front. The air will conpress towards the back of the boat. if you are talking about the opposite, I think it would hurt lift totally. Just my opinion, Look at some full size tunnels. LR99

this is wonderful news, I could never afford the amps scale boats before, but recently I have searched the net and ebay for any of the outboards. All I was able to find were the powerheads on k&b lowers. Please post all information on this subject. thanks, Nut
