Okay History info! what year and first R/C boat!

1973 miss unlimited with a OS 60 ringed air plane motor with a cool clamp on it for water cooling. No pipe. Just open side exhaust! Let me tell you it will wake you up in the morning! Futaba 2 channel stick radio with S7 non water proof servos. Water proof radio gear was not popular at this...

Rudder servo for large twin outriggers

I am going to throw something out there that might sound crazy but works well. Move the lead edge of the rudder forward of the pivot point just a touch. It will take lots of stress off the rudder and servo.

    "Heat Race" speeds

The good ole days.. I remember doing 18 sec laps and winning " F " hydro at 1991 nats which was great for that time. I was a young pup back then and I was honored to have Don Pinckert pitting for me ! :D

Hey Glenn good to hear from you.. April sounds doable for sure.. Im trying to finish the radio boxes as we speak and that should be it before paint. There are tons of details that I didnt expect to tackle that need attention.

stuffed strut with screw on ferrel.

The whole square connection of the shaft fits inside the strut. Notice also that the ferrel screws on to the strut. The strut utilizes 3 bushings with thrust bearings and washers in the rear. Custom titanium drive dog. This unit is silky smooth. Im hoping it holds up in the water.

    stuffed strut

This is a different idea on an old problem. This is a square drive setup housed within the strut. The thought is to reduce drag on the entire rotating assembly. This setup uses an inverted cable with the shaft side connecting to the motor. I have not tried it yet.. Im hoping to reduce drag by...

Comment by 'Bill Pos' in media 'trial fit with cockpit mockup in place'

I havent ran this boat yet but from others who have run them they tell me that a water ingestion doesnt hurt anything. Sounds reasonable I suppose.. The reason I was given was to look at a real airliner. What happens when they fly through a rain storm?

I`m going to take my time through the winter now and hopefully have a maiden voyage in late Jan. Oh yeah! It should be a momentous occasion. I will have some video going for sure.. I dont anticipate any huge first day out or anything.. It will be used as a shakedown day to get the bugs worked out.

Need to ID this old Hydro Hull

I had that same boat.. It won me many races. Yes its an early model claim jumper. I loved that boat ! Its out of hand wild and fast ! That is a near exact version (with hardware)of the one I had. I ran it with an old OS 67. Only difference is that I used the octura wedge strut on there.. It...
