The neodymium magnets work great! I'm really likin' this as there's no visible hardware or screws on the outside of the cowl. I honestly think sometimes I spend more time thinking how to anchor a scale cowl that is simple, functional and looks good than anything else. I'm sure there will be situations where the neo's won't work but on this boat they do. Also I added two small 3/8" blocks on the deck right in front of the 'glassed in L brackets to position & hold the cowl from shifting front to back & act as guides when cowl goes on
