A taper attachment helps to machine tuned pipe sections from steel bar stock. The custom cooling systems fully adjustable stainless pipe makes the rapid cutting of steel posible. The cooling system uses only Mobilmet Omicron cutting oil; never water soluble coolants. The four way hardened & ground tool holder is also custom made. Notice the two flush mounted lubricating fittings, in the top of the compound slide, adjacent to the four way tool holder. Two more of these are also mounted in the cross feed slides. A special custom designed high pressure lubricating gun uses way lube to lubricate these points internally. Also notice the custom made felt way wipes added to the carriage; the compound & the taper attachment slides, to keep any dirt out.
