This photo shows the spring loaded end of the nichrome wire cutter. The wire is insulated from the aluminum handle mount by passing through a fiber glass insulator. Also notice how the aluminum handle mount is pressed onto the .750 dia fiber glass rod, which is machined down to .625 dia at each end. The handle mount is also secured with a set screw.
