I built a lighter cowl out of a model rocket "body tube" and some plywood. Very fun boat to drive. After many years of racing throughout the 1980's, the sponson anchors eventually wore out, and I sold it. I developed my own turn fin, and a stiffer turn fin holder, further back toward the CG. Great heat racing boat. Marine Specialties hardware, rigid motor mount.
