We had Ron Jones Sr. as our speaker at last night's UNW banquet. He was one of the best speakers we have had. A very humble and soft spoken man. While he did talk about props and boats, what he really shared about was the relationships and people he had come to know in boat racing that was what he treasured more than the successes (and he has had a lot of them) he had at building race and championship winning boats in several different classes.
It was a real word of wisdom about enjoying the people we race with and leave all the bickering and other nonsense about calls that should or should not have been made alone.
The quote of the night had to be "what works for a model probably won't work with a real boat and what works with a real boat probably won't work all that well with a model".
