with most of the talk about thomas and mutt sport 40s being THE boat to have i was wondering about the aeromarine sport 40( ...specially as our race water can get rough ) are they any good?

<_< ;)

My first fiberglass hull was an Aeromarine. I could not keep it from flipping over. Any quick hit of the throttle would lift the left side off the water and 9 times out of 10 it flipped. I now run an ACboats pro40 hull. Its very stable in rough water.

I ran one with the Bud cowl years ago set up by the Simpson's and it hauled the mail and handled ruff water very well. Radio box was up front and had saddle tanks on the right side. Till I hit a dead boat in a Ocala race it did good, after the wack it never seemed to run as good. Rossi's where the motors of choice back then. I think there are some better hulls out there now but back then it was as good as any if set up right. Good luck!
