I have a never used 3.5cc K&B Outboard still in box.

Its a old type that has an exhaust throttle and venturi not carburetted.

are these any good, are they hard to set up or is it not worth the hassel.

GM.. dont run it..its way to cool as is to fire that old dog up.. If its new in the box you just might want to hang on to it.. I have a few and there fun to collect.

I agree with grim. If it is new in the box you have a piece of model boat history. I have two of them up on the shelf and every now and then show them to some one but they will never be run. on the other hand those are great piston sleeve assembleys!

The only problem is the P&S out of the exhaust throttle motors won't fit the crankcases that have the stiffening web in the middle of the motor mount lug.

The O.D. of the sleeve on the exhaust throttle motors is .748".

The O.D. of the sleeve on the newer design* motors is .768".

*As I remember this design change to the crankcases took place in 1980.

If you are going to run the P&S you need the old crankcase also.
