I have a couple of thoughts on this matter myself. I think they should do away with the Turbine and make the Unlimited a Nostalgia class. Why? This sport as others revolves around sponsor money, which there is a lack of for sure these days. So to save the sport they need to keep the big boats to...
I know you guys in other countries have seen this for a while. But with the prices around the $2.30 range here in Spokane our club races have suffered. We have had 3 races scheduled so far and we normally have around 20 people show up. This year we are lucky if 5 people show up. I am in shock...
Tim, first thanx for your help! No they do not drop off when the igniter is removed. These are the common traits i notice in both motors. Both have stock carbs. Both start right up and idle just fine. On the bench if you open the throttle both take at least 5 to 10 seconds to respond. Although...
Even though I didn`t get many replies I am sure the title got some coverage so I thought I would update. I have ran the boat quite a bit now, didn`t blow up. What do ya know!! I still haven`t managed to find the set-up with this motor. I know from experience that these motors will scream. But...
Very careful not to cause sub piston induction, has a flat squish band, and I am not sure on the rod. I have seen some pics of some highly modified cranks on this forum, lots more than this one I have. I was just wondering if grinding on the counter-weight was causing any problems. Guess I will...
My question pertains to balance. So here is my story. I have been hoarding 21 Picco P-5 EXR`s and parts. A while back I bought one off e-bay that was extensively modified but pretty much worn out. The case was relieved, the crank was done and the back plate modified also. Now I am not really up...
I could be wrong about this, but this past winter I attended a Race at Legg Lake. I do believe Our boy was there. Funny none of the competitors seemed to mind his presence and I can probably shed some light on it for those of you who might be going to the Nats. Big Boy! Doesn`t change my opinion...
As I am re-doing some of my tanks I was wondering. Years ago in Drag Racing when Big Daddy was smoking the competion he had a simple secret. His fuel line from the tank to the pump was bigger than anybody else`s. True Story. Has anybody experimented with this on our motors? Just wondering?
Ok, one of the things that gives me the most trouble is bending that tubing to get it in the tank. I just know there is a simple way to do this without kinking it. I am thinking that maybe finding a cable the right size and putting it inside then bending it would work but haven`t tried it yet...
Boy do I do this different! But then again neither do I have the time or the space as I am a single parent. Anyhow I prefer to get as much info as I can, look for the best People and deals on the hulls I think I might like to run. I try to stay in the 2 to 5 year old category, as this seems to...
Don,
You will get a chuckle out of this observation, as it is my first big-block. But Holy Smokes Batman does it suck down the fuel. Now I know why you mix your own. I might have to rename the boat Budget Buster, LOL.
Scott,
Yep the old carb had some work done to it. I believe the low speed was taken out and the spray bar was changed. Can`t remember exactly what I was told but do know that it was a modded carb. Anyhow the old motor and carb are up in Canada right now getting a makeover. How about that OS...
I have been running the boat with a 1250 on it. It was fast, fast, fast with the stock P5. It just seems funny that I was having to lenghten the pipe considering a modded motor and higher nitro content. If I tweaked the needle it would run just as fast as the stock motor but at half throttle...
