    PIPE LENGTH

Pipe length is related to rpm, small engines run higher revs so have shorter pipe lengths. Of course if you can keep a 7.5 running in excess of 33,000 or settle for 27,000 or so from a 3.5 you could run the same pipe lengths.

    Lythiam Ion Barrary Question

Are the lipos robust and reliable enough for this application? Thought I had heard of them failing open, one cell dies and thats it for the boat. Not too bad on an electic boat that will stop but nitro? The nimh sound like the way to go to me. Brian

IMPBA noise rule & dB meters

Its funny, feel like I've read all this before, there is no need for quiet to mean slow. From what I have read the likes of Chris can put his mind to the set-up of a rigger and fine tune that and the prop to get a fast boat that handles. Apply the same methodical approach to noise and you can...

    2006 IMPBA NATS REPORT

Shouldn't think Dave looks at the race results on here too often so he may well miss these comments. No expert but some things for consideration would be There is more than just the pipe to think about to meet the noise requirements. In FSRV the boats are fully enclosed as intake noise can be...

    graupner px-1

Ok its a cat, nice looking to. I think I saw on another site that it leaks around the seam. I would re-enforce the seam with fiberglass tape, using either epoxy or poylester resin (use the same as the hull, from the pics I would guess poly). Should make a nice looking cat. With a decent 7.5...

    graupner px-1

Darren Can you give us some information about the px-1, type of hull, length width etc. Not aware of any splitter boxes for a 7.5 cc nitro. What engine and pipe do you have? You should look at joining a local club there are IC boats running, priors lea and kingsbury water park both have...

    painting jig

You should look through Don's galleries he has a really good way of supporting a boat during painting, shure he will chip in.

    New Design

Some large sheets of graph paper a ruler, set square, patractor and some fine pencils will do the job. I also have a basic CAD program (Total CAD) that cost me about $16, works OK for my uses, would be better still if I had access to a plotter. Brian

    Gas engine help

Tom The Zenoah Plug Spanner has a good Philips head that is an excellent fit for the screws. First time the “big honking plate” is removed you should use an impact driver to shift them. Once they have shifted if you use the plug spanner they should be fine. Can't help with the spring or...
