Just put the finishing touches on this one. It came out real nice. I made the rear sponsons bolt on this time.

Probably the last one I'm building for a while. I need to concentrate on a couple of new set ups.

Mike,

Nice job once again. I hope it runs as good as mine?
This one may be some good competition at the Internats this summer?
It will look really nice once it is finished and ready for some fuel and new
propellers. Getting some 2217's and 2219's ready for testing soon.

Rhode Island is a great place to test some new "Game Changers" on that

beauty.

Sweet!

Just curious, how many boats you figure your family has built to date?

Ran your hulls into the 90's before I started my own stuff, ran great!

I'm not sure how many. In the 90's I was building to earn a couple extra bucks to race with when I was much younger. Some of those still show up even though I did not build many.

Nowadays, I probably have built 5, 40 boats in the last 4 years that I have sold. I like to get some feedback from some other racers on how they are working and different set ups to try. My dad has built about the same amount of 20 hydros. We have no intention of going into the boat building business. For me these days, it is more of just a passion. It does feel good when the boats do win. In the last year, the 40 hydro won the fall nationals (Wiebelhaus) and the big nitro race in Florida in Jan (S. Bowden).

I'm not sure how many, but my wife will tell you too many!

Looks good Mike, how'd you beef up the transom on the sponson to handle the side load of the T/F?

Ray,

That sponson is the most difficult to build. It is reinforced with 3/16 ply with blind nuts for the fin to mount to. It gets jigged up at the start of the build and then all of the skins on the sponson get glued to it all the way around. It then gets capped off at the end of the build. It is a very time consuming process, but it is robust in the end so it is worth it.

No problem Sam. Thanks for doing such a good job of setting it up and getting it running. I knew it was going in good hands.

Thanks for all the compliments everybody.
