Stealthwake 23

Grandson brought over his stealthwake 23 for me to look at. Motor not working. I hooked it up direct to battery and nothing. Is this an ok test? Should it be replaced with stock motor or is there a suggested upgrade and switch to lipo? Not really familiar with the electrics. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

u need the switching power supply to make it rotate. at best it will move a fraction of the 360 depending on # of poles . not a good way to test . might also burn something out.

It's a brushed motor so yes it's fine to hook the battery to it for testing. Sounds like the motor is no good.
