The text instructions I have for my .45 speedmaster mono says to drill the stuffing tube hole in the transom as close to the keel as possible.

There is also a picture of a line drawing that came with the instructions. It shows the position of the hardware on the hull. It shows the stuffing tube hole centered a half inch from the keel.

This would be a difference of about a quarter inch...which is huge when it comes to setting a boat up.

Does anyone know which is correct?? As close to the keel as possible, or centered a half inch up from the keel...

Thanks in advance for your input,

Sean

Sean,

I did mine at 7/16"up, but the same size drill bit as the tube and dremeled it down to the hull bottom into a slot instead of a big hole. It still moves easily up and down that way and doesen't have a hole, big enough to drive a truck through..

The Speedmaster calls for 1/2"

Seaducer calls for 3/8"
